Occasional Rece

Oriole Nursery School is a non-profit, cooperative preschool in the Yonge and St.Clair area.

RECE responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Works with other Oriole Teachers to plan and implement a play-based curriculum
- Engages children in play and learning
- Assists children with diapering and dressing
- Helps to prepare and serve snack
- Assists with set-up and clean-up of the school’s toys and equipment
- Implements our School Philosophy, according to How Does Learning Happen? And ELECT
- Occasionally runs the classroom (in conjunction with assistants or volunteers.)
- Occasionally leads Circle time (i.e. storytelling, calendar, songs, rhymes finger plays etc.)
- Be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators as an RECE
- Have previous experience working in a child care environment with children, aged 2-4 years
- Have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- Have a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check (or be willing to obtain. Oriole will pay for the VSC.)
- Submit current immunization records, as recommended by Toronto Public Health
- Have a strong grasp of the English language, oral and written
- Be able to multi-task, work well in a team atmosphere
- Be patient, nurturing, enthusiastic and energetic
