**Your opportunity**:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent performs routine processing and testing laboratory work, which includes running samples, record keeping, planning and scheduling machine times, ordering supplies, ensuring laboratory equipment is operating smoothly, and assisting with making variations to experimental procedures. The incumbent interacts with the principle investigator, graduate and undergraduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, and orients new lab personnel and students to general laboratory rules and procedures.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Collecting experimental data, verifying results and passing on findings
- Following rules and procedural instructions when restocking glassware in laboratories and/or store rooms
- Paying close attention to occupational safety precautions
- Ordering supplies with approval
- Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with the use of laboratory equipment.
- Experience working with injection and extrusion techniques, High Temperature Furnace operation and safety, pilot processing machines, and maintaining and conducting occasional repairs to laboratory equipment.
- Strong computer skills: e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to perform laboratory duties, including collection and dissemination of lab data.
- Familiarity with a laboratory environment and protocols.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to document experimental results carefully.
- Adaptable, conscientious and highly organized. Shows good judgment and initiative.
- Ability to learn new methods and software.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team.
