The **HR Manager** will work with leaders across the business to build on our positive culture and ensure a great place to work for all our employees in a non-union and unionized environment with 182 employees across five companies.

**Reporting Structure**
Dually reporting to the Corporate HR Director and the President, this role is both hands-on and strategic, providing expertise in the areas of employee relations, performance management, total rewards, employee engagement, learning and development, diversity and inclusivity, regulatory compliance, and ad hoc projects and events as needed to attract and retain talent. This person will help achieve our business objectives with the assistance of an HR Coordinator and a Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
- Develop and execute HR strategies and initiatives that support the organization's overall objectives and promote a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Lead and manage HR team members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR compliance.
- Partner with business leadership to understand each organization's unique business needs and budget and develop HR solutions that drive organizational success.
- Oversee performance management, succession planning and recognition program to assess employee performance, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead employee relations efforts, including managing complex employee issues, conflicts, and grievances while ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Design and implement compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills, capabilities, and engagement.
- Consult and coach all levels of management to build effective organizational structures and serve high performing, diverse and inclusive teams.
- Increase depth to our accountability culture and cascade KPIs across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and oversee HR audits and reporting as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in HR management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Build credibility and trust among employees; resolve employee concerns with compassion and timely follow-through.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.
- 5 years’ minimum progressive experience as a HR Business Partner and/or HR Manager.
- Human Resource certification preferred.
- Demonstrated success delivering effective HR in multi-disciplinary and/or multi-division or company organizations is a significant advantage.
- Previous HR experience in a consulting, project management and/or civil construction environment is required.
- Driver’s license in good standing, and own transportation to work from/support multiple locations in the York Region area.
- Applied knowledge of employment regulations
- Demonstrated experience in organizational development and change management is a plus.
- Resourceful and self-motivated with ability to work in matrixed, fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience.
- Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management through complex and difficult issues, including conducting investigations.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization, to positively influence teams and outcomes.
- Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication; must be a clear and concise communicator.
