**Today’s Parent **, the leading parenting resource in Canada, and Chatelaine, Canada's leading Women's magazine covering food, health, beauty and culture are looking for a creative and digitally savvy Associate Editor/Producer to join our Toronto-based team. In this role, you will create and manage multi-platform content, including digital articles, social media posts, video, and audio content. Working closely with our Editors-in-Chief, you’ll play a key role in ideating, producing, and distributing content across digital and social platforms to engage and grow our audience.

You’re a creative thinker and a digital content pro with a passion for lifestyle and parenting topics. You understand the intricacies of creating engaging content for multiple platforms—from editorial articles and social media posts to videos and podcasts. You know the power of a great nut graph and can turn a ho-hum story into a great one with the right tweaks (and a little rewriting). You thrive on bringing ideas to life in different formats, ensuring that content resonates with diverse audiences across all digital verticals. You’re proactive, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You have a solid understanding of SEO and digital strategy and enjoy working as part of a team but are equally comfortable taking initiative and leading projects on your own.
**_Key Responsibilities: _**
**_Today’s Parent
- **
**Writing, editing and assigning**:
- Monitor trends in parenting and family health, generating story ideas and assigning them to freelancers.
- Oversee content production by framing, editing, and updating articles for style and substance.
- Manage relationships with freelancers, including tracking assignments, contracts, and invoices.
- Collaborate with interns on content production and support sales meetings and project managers on sponsored content initiatives.
**SEO & Digital Optimization**:
- Use SEO tools to identify relevant keywords and optimize content to improve discoverability and performance.
- Update and maintain existing content to ensure it’s up-to-date, SEO-optimized, and aligned with the latest trends.
**_Today’s Parent and Chatelaine _**
**Content Creation & Strategy**:
- Ideate, produce and edit content across digital, social, video, and audio platforms, ensuring consistency and quality across all formats.Collaborate with the editorial teams to plan and execute compelling multimedia content for Today’s Parent and Chatelaine.**Social Media Management**:
- Develop and manage social media content and strategies that align with the brand’s editorial calendar and engage our audience on platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok.
- Produce platform-specific content, including short-form videos, social graphics, and interactive posts, to maximize engagement and reach.
**Video & Audio Production**:
- Oversee the production of video content and audio podcasts, working with internal teams and external freelancers to produce high-quality multimedia that aligns with Today’s Parent’s & Chatelaine's tone and brand values.
- Work with SJC’s creative team to develop and execute social-first videos that capture attention and drive audience growth.
**Project Management**:
- Track and manage content production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met for all deliverables.
- Collaborate with freelancers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth content execution.
**Analytics & Insights**:
Monitor content performance across platforms, leveraging data and analytics to optimize content strategy and improve engagement.
**_Requirements: _**
- Education: Degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.Experience: 3-5 years of experience in producing digital content across multiple platforms.**_Key Skills: _**
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms and audiences.
- Proven ability to create and manage content for digital, social, video, and audio platforms.
- Strong knowledge of social media best practices, trends, and audience engagement strategies across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Experience with video and podcast production, from ideation to execution.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and video editing software.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and digital optimization strategies.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
**Bonus Skills**:
- Experience with e-commerce and affiliate marketing.
