Associate Pro - Job Description

**Role Summary**

An integral part of the Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited leadership team orchestrating our golf operations with responsibility for the member golf experience, junior golf academy and event programming. The primary responsibility of the Associate Golf Professional is to provide golfers an exceptional experience.

**Supervision**:
The Associate Golf Professional reports directly to Pike Lake Ownership & The Head Golf Professional/The Director of Golf.

**Responsibilities**:
As a part of the leadership team developing the facility’s reputation through consistently delivering high quality customer service
- Responsible for coaching, custom fitting and repairs and providing expert advice.
- Oversee, organize, promote, and deliver an effective academy offering for members and guests ensuring that each participant’s needs are identified.
- Assist with overseeing the Pro Shop and Golf Operations
- Responsible for all visual merchandising of the Pro Shop
- Responsible for all inventory control measures, full counts and spots counts as required and as directed by Director of Golf/Head Professional
- Accountable to ensure all merchandise is properly received and labeled to the highest accuracy.
- Assist with overseeing daily department operation, including start of shift briefings, daily assignments, tee times, and end of shift cash remittances.
- Serve as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties.
- Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
- Assist with overseeing and planning of the tournament and event schedule.
- Liaison between the Head Office to ensure that all procurement processes are followed.
- Assist with managing, training, and motivating staff to provide consistently outstanding membership service levels.
- Monitor and assist with the implementation of the world handicapping system.
- Implement and enforce policy, programs and plans established and communicated.
- Work directly with the advertising and marketing personnel to ensure all golf-related information is posted onto our social network in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain golf standards and member satisfaction working in conjunction with the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf and senior Management.
- Assist with promotion and sales of merchandise and all golf services.
- Assist with organization and execution of all club leagues, events, and tournaments.
- Coach and counsel Junior programs.
- Prepare, attend, and contribute to departmental and organizational meetings as required.
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
- Assist with pro shop merchandise management including set up in spring, merchandise tagging, mid-summer management and promotions (approved by superiors), fall clean up and merchandise returns.
- Assist with overseeing the daily functioning of back-shop staff, ranger staff, pro shop staff, driving range, and reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf any deficiencies or concerns.
- Care of all equipment and machinery at the golf course, pro shop and range facilities
- Assisting in scheduling as directed by the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf

**Requirements**:
University degree or college diploma preferred in a related field.
- Minimum 3 years as a golf professional.
- Class ‘A’ Member in good standing of the PGA of Canada. Head Professional experience is an asset.
- Experience successfully coaching clients of different ages and skill levels, individual and groups
- High level of knowledge and expertise pertaining to the game of golf and golf operations
- High level of knowledge regarding the World Handicap System
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and track record.
- A highly visible, friendly, and outgoing leader
- Experience with the Golf Genius Program is an asset.
- Smart Serve Certification
- Canada Wide Police Clearance-Young and Vulnerable Sector
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
