**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and supervise the yard staff and keep productivity at peak levels.
- Ensure that safety regulations are followed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the yard.
- Inspect equipment and vehicles for proper maintenance and repair.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure that yard staff are trained and knowledgeable in safety protocols.
- Schedule yard staff to meet production demands.
- Assist customers
- Assume responsibilities for all yard activities.
- Supervise customer service in the yard as needed.
- Develop and maintain receiving, unloading, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and report stock levels to management.
- Supervise and and monitor the maintenance and safe operation of all yard equipment.
- Bring operating problems to the attention of managment.
- Proactively anticipate labour and material shortages and notify managment.
- Provide a good example and training to yard workers.
- Other responsibities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

- 2 or more years experience in the lumber and building material industry.
- Ability to build loads and assemble products for delivery.
- Must be able to read and write english and interpret written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Forklift experience.
- Must be able to motivate and manage staff.
- Excellent record keeping skills.
- Team player with a focus on customer service and business growth.
- Demonstrate a complete willingness to learn.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in all environments.
- Must be able to work the occasional weekend.
- DZ license is not required but preferred.
