Lead Florist

Imagine being surrounded by tropical plants and lush greenery while working side by side with a dedicated group of event planners and florists. Aquatopia provides just that. Our office is an oasis, a state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse that hosts events year-round with a large portion of those events being weddings.

We are a company that truly values working cohesively together to produce exceptional, memorable events. In order to provide a manageable work environment year-round, we are looking to expand our team.

The ideal addition would be creative, hardworking, and able to take direction. Because such a large portion of our events are weddings, we would want someone who prides themselves on having a passion for details. The goal would be that once this individual understands the dynamics and day to day of Aquatopia, they would then be confident to lead a team of floral assistants when the head florist is unavailable.

Wage: $20 - $23 per hour (wage dependent on experience)

Have hands on experience creating personal florals and floral arrangements.

Be comfortable both taking and giving directions and constructive suggestions.

Be organized and have a good attention to detail.

Have a valid driver’s licence.

Have a good sense of design and know what is trending in the wedding and events industries.

Have experience with wedding or event production.

Be able to work on-site at Aquatopia.

Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.

Must be available to work most weekends.

Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Must be comfortable working on ladders and operating a vertical mast lift (training will be provided).

**Some of the tasks of this position include**:
Reading and executing the designs on floral proposals based on the wants and needs of our couples or event organizers.

Creating personal florals such as bouquets, boutonnieres and flower crowns.

Processing florals and organizing stems based on the floral recipes.

Creating table and archway floral arrangements.

Lifting, moving and setting up tables, chairs, décor pieces and floral installations.

Assembling arches, pergolas and other installation pieces.

Pulling and prepping floral supplies for weddings and events.

Cleaning and putting away decor after events.

Keeping a clean and organized production space.

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
