The MLTC Technical Services Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Electrical & Instrumentation Journeyman. The Electrical & Instrumentation Journeyman is required to troubleshoot advanced technical equipment within all facilities that are affiliated with MLTC. The Electrical & Instrumentation Journeyman is also responsible to assist Operators with the repairs and maintenance of the plant’s electrical and control systems and filtration processes, in addition, they will adjust equipment as the need arises.

**Duties**:

- Provide written reports, conduct annual reviews and provide condition reports.
- Assist and train WTP Operators in the maintenance, repairs, replacement and calibration of electric and electronic equipment in both sewage pump stations and water treatment plants.
- Read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts.
- Collaborate with PMT (Project Management Team), Chief & Council, and ISC (Indigenous Service Canada) Officers to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner.
- Examine and evaluate the instrumentation and system failures of Water Treatment Plants and Sewage Pump Stations monitored by precision measuring instruments, electrical, and pneumatic testing devices.
- Perform installation of process control instrumentation.
- Attend Project Management Meetings on infrastructure projects and WTP and SPS systems.

**Qualifications**:

- A Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Engineer certification
- Class 1 WTP Operator or willing to obtain
- Experience in programming, troubleshooting and maintaining controllers as RTU, PLC, VFD and other SCADA equipment
- Sound knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code CSA Z462, Workplace Electrical Safety CSA Z463 and Maintenance of Electrical Systems.
- Relevant experience troubleshooting and testing electronic equipment in Water Treatment Plants.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to speak/understand Cree/Dene is considered a valuable asset.
