**Position and Responsibilities**

The Rabbit Lake operation is looking for a motivated professional to join our radiation, health and safety team. The radiation and safety departments are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of employees and contractors at site by identifying radiation and industrial safety risks and mitigating those risks for successful operation of the facility. In this role you will be directly responsible for radiation protection activities while providing support to the safety department. Responsibilities of the role include the following:

- Radiation monitoring, data analysis and reporting to ensure radiation protection program compliance at site
- Providing direction and support to manage radiation exposures to levels that are as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) in adherence to the radiation program procedures and controls
- Issuing of radiation work, confined space, hot works, and other safe work permits
- Training personnel and contractors on radiation safety, respiratory protection and other health and safety related training as may be required
- Conducting routine monitoring and assessing work conditions pertaining to radiation and safety protection for the safety of all workers
- Assisting with any CIRS investigations and provide guidance for corrective actions on radiation, health and safety related incidents
- Completion of routine safety and fire protection inspections
- Oversight and support of contractor personnel
- Participation in the site Emergency Response and/or Mine Rescue teams and provision of support for related training and response activities.

**Education and Qualifications**

Requirements of the position:

- Radiation or safety technician certificate or a post-secondary education in a related field
- Five to eight years of applicable work experience with radiation protection and/or safety related fields
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- You are a team player, self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, with the ability to work independently with safety as a core value
- Excellent communication skills and analytical capabilities
- Work a 14-day rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Assets:

- Supervisory experience
- Experience as a member of an Occupational Health Committee (OHC)
- Emergency response or mine rescue experience/certification
- Familiarity with industrial fire suppression systems

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North
