The Role

We are a dynamic global organization seeking a qualified Tax Operations Analyst to join our Tax Team in Markham. The role involves playing a pivotal part in ensuring compliance with tax laws, developing corporate tax policies, and minimizing tax liability through strategic analysis. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the successful execution of tax operations, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and supporting various business lines.

**Responsibilities**:
- Support the Canada Tax Director to ensure ongoing compliance with taxation laws and regulations. Analyze information for timely and accurate tax filings, including income tax, international withholding tax, and federal/provincial sales tax.- Work closely with the Center of Excellence to support day-to-day income tax accounting activities. This includes journal bookings, tax account reconciliations, variance investigations, and coordination with internal stakeholders.- Take ownership of tracking tax payments and refund cheques, ensuring timely submissions and investigating any discrepancies in refund amounts.- Assist in responding to CRA requests affecting business proposals. Conduct follow-up phone correspondences with various departments from federal/provincial tax authorities.- Assist in gathering and analyzing information for Tax Authority audits and reviews.- Perform tax validation checks and approvals on specific procurement transactions in SAP Ariba. Coordinate with CIO teams to troubleshoot automation issues.- Support the implementation of tax automation and transformation initiatives. Ensure compliance with Kyndryl Tax Controls Framework & Tax Policies. Develop and document new processes and controls resulting from continuous upgrades.- Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization. Identify weaknesses and drive the implementation of effective solutions.

Who You Are

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
- This position requires the incumbent to work from the Markham office (3600 Steeles Ave. East) for a minimum of two days a week.- Strong knowledge of financial accounting under IFRS and/or US GAAP.- Good understanding of accounting for taxes, including income tax, indirect tax, and withholding tax.- 3+ years of relevant tax and/or accounting experience, preferably in-house with a large multinational enterprise or Big 4 experience.- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.- Proficient use of technical tools and programs (MS Office, SAP experience preferred).- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are desirable but not required.
