**Overview**

Housing Alternatives Inc. is currently hiring a Maintenance Technician to help manage the general maintenance and curb appeal of the apartment community. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who enjoys being hands-on and helping customers. Does this sound like you Join us

**Responsibilities include**:

- Preparation of vacant units for occupancy (including minor repairs, painting and minor cleaning)
- Property inspections
- Maintenance repairs as required
- Inspecting grounds, buildings
- Maintain maintenance files, records
- Minor grounds maintenance
- Snow removal from walkways, stairs
- Respond to emergency calls (after hours) - including fire alarms

**Knowledge and Skills**
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- WHMIS
- Fluency in the English language (both orally and in writing)
- Comfortable using computers and software
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in teams
- Have oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external vendors and customers.
- Ability to problem-solve
- Demonstrated judgment within the scope of duties
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills
- Mechanically inclined; experience with hand tools and minor repairs

**Hours**:
Thirty-five hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be necessary on occasion.

**Salary**:
Competitive wage

**Other**:
Valid class 5 drivers license and **reliable vehicle necessary**. Mileage is reimbursed per km.

**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
