Rf Technician

MDT Technical specializes in voice and data wireless communications. Our office is located in Delta B.C. and we service mainly the Lower Mainland area. Our primary focus is voice and data radio communications including inbuilding RF coverage and repeater systems, 2-Way, radio and cellular DAS Systems and Point to Point Data Links.

**Description**

As aTechnician, your primary responsibilities are to build, install, troubleshoot, service and maintain analog, digital, DMR, P25, trunked radio systems and in building DAS systems. Our customers include public safety, education, and public works departments. We are looking for qualified individuals with experience in the field and those who are looking for a new and long-lasting career opportunity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with our customers to provide excellence in customer service.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair LMR analog, DMR, P25, and trunked digital RF systems.
- Program radios and equipment as required.
- Install terminate, test, RF, data and fiber cabling as required
- Operate test equipment such as spectrum analyzer to diagnose system issues.
- Install RF microwave systems.
- Install RF systems per design documents and best practices.
- Respond to customer emergency service calls.
- Work with and understand AC/DC power systems.
- Install vehicle mounted mobile radios, and equipment
- Test for signal strength and determine requirements.
- Install, service and maintain BDA DAS systems.
- Ensure timely completion of work.
- Assist other staff as needed.
- Work with RF engineer to develop scope of work.

**Requirements**:
Post Secondary Education in Radio or Telecom, or equivalent training and related experience.

Valid BC Drivers License

**Additional consideration for**:

- Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree
- Technical training and certifications (OSHA, R56, Motorola, Kenwood, Harris, etc.)
- Motorola, P25 System Experience/Certification

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.48-$34.38 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
