**What you will do**:

- Research and provide creative hardware / software solutions for our Potash operations
- Develop digital solutions to solve problems in real physical environments
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Information Technology teams
- Propose new solutions while also, sustaining, and improving existing systems
- Develop, document, and standardize repeatable patterns
- Educate team members on best practices and provide cross training
- Develop an understanding of process control systems including products from Emerson and Rockwell (PLCs, HMIs, etc.) to connect solutions to control systems
- Develop and deliver re-deployable solutions (optimization, visualization, navigation, and automation of equipment)
- Data mine or extract usable data from valuable traditional, non-traditional, and unstructured data sources
- Select and use machine learning tools to isolate features, create and optimize classifiers
- Carry out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data (visual, sensors, point clouds)
- Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
- Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Analyze large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions; propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
- Develop stabile systems that can be self or semi-automated managed
- Maintain artifacts for Project Pipeline phases (structured methodology)
- Create user documentation and deployment documentation
- Acquire knowledge of the Nutrien business to enable understanding of where data analytics and advanced computer technologies can help us improve our operations and safety
- Work with control engineers to setup solutions to connect to control systems
- Work with our current environment utilizing Linux, Python, C++, ROS (Python), TensorFlow & SageMaker (AWS)

**What you will bring**:

- Computer Science degree or equivalent program and 3-5 years of related experience
- Part mathematician, part computer scientist, part big data theorist of unstructured data
- Able to work with various forms of sensors and data capture devices (cameras, lidar, radar, smart devices tracking devices, tags from control systems, sensors)
- Have a love for electronic devices
