**Position Title**: Director of Community Wellbeing - Full-Time Permanent Position

**Position Description**: Under the Direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Community Wellbeing provides overall operational responsibility for overseeing multiple divisions including, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Health, Social Services/Employment and Education Departments. The Director of Community Wellbeing will be responsible developing new programs and/or initiatives to help our organization grow. The director will be responsible for assigning tasks, delegating responsibilities and overseeing the overall success of the organization’s Community Service projects.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provide overall strategic leadership to the Health, Social Services/Employment and Education Departments
- Develop and assist in the implementation of related goals and policies/procedures
- Develop and maintain documentation of all completed initiatives
- Review program activities to determine if they are achieving their goals and make recommendations for improvement
- Attend Council meetings, as required, and provide departmental information and updates
- Prepare and administer all related budgets
- Act as a representative and liaison with all levels of government officials and various organizations
- Represent FWFN with potential partners; seek out new health, social services/employment, and education opportunities and funding sources
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in support of departmental needs and serve as resource to staff members
- Ensure staff development, orientation and training
- Attend regular meetings with CEO, Directors, Managers and Staff to assure program collaboration and that the organization is meeting strategic planning goals
- Other related duties as assigned

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle
- Must be able to travel
- Criminal Record Check required.
- Must be available to work flexible hours such as overtime, on-call, after-hours, evenings and weekends

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate or graduate degree in an associated field such as social work, community development, public administration, health or social science or combination of education and experience
- Minimum of (5) five years in a related field with progressive responsibility
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budget preparation and reporting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (including word, excel, power point and Outlook)
- Demonstrated administrative management with the ability to supervise managers, coordinators and front-line staff
- Knowledge and experience with Indigenous culture, traditions, medicine, and ceremony with the ability to provide recommendations for program evaluation and updates that will better support community members and/or effective interventions
- Experience in managing crisis support and ability to mediate conflict, this includes thorough knowledge and experience with case management and counselling methodologies
- Knowledge and experience with program development and implementation
- Able to communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand
- Excellent written and oral communications, with an emphasis on keen listening, program adaptation and the ability to effectively interpret and assess program requirements to fit the needs of specific/vulnerable community members
- Demonstrate ability to assist community members with concern and empathy, respecting their confidentiality and privacy, and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner
