We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented **Grading Foreperson **to lead our grading team and oversee the efficient execution of grading operations on construction sites. The Grading Foreperson will be responsible for coordinating and supervising grading activities, ensuring that work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications. This position requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of grading processes, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Lead and supervise a team of grading laborers, ensuring that tasks are assigned effectively, and work is completed in accordance with project timelines and specifications.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to grading team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communicate project expectations to the grading team and ensure that work aligns with project plans and specifications.
- Oversee grading operations to ensure that the work meets the required levels, slopes, and specifications outlined in project plans.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision in grading work.
- Enforce and promote a strong culture of safety within the grading team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.
- Operate and oversee the operation of grading equipment such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators, ensuring efficient and accurate grading.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in grading operations and a thorough understanding of grading processes. Previous experience in a supervisory or foreperson role is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide the grading team.
- Proficient in operating and overseeing the operation of grading equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey project requirements, changes, and safety protocols effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and regulations.
- Valid G2 or G License is required
