**Role and Responsibilities**

The Hardware Design department is responsible for providing hardware solutions for all CAE training devices. Our multidisciplinary team, trained and dedicated to its task, has a vast know-how in many sectors such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and electronic engineering.

Our main mission is to design, customize and manage the development of cost-effective and innovative hardware solutions aligned with CAE’s strategic plan and our clients’ requirements. We are set to deliver highly technological products and services that are part of a digital ecosystem.

**Responsibilities**
- Take ownership of the simulated cockpit design throughout the project lifecycle.
- Responsible for the delivery of the simulated cockpit design according to schedule and within budget.
- Create conceptual and detailed designs that meet project requirements.
- Breakdown the design into individual design tasks in Jira.
- Collaborate with the Hardware Development Lead (HDL) to assign tasks and create release plans.
- Proactively identify risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Contribute to Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Detailed Design Reviews (CDRs) with our clients.
- Lead the technical aspect of a mechanical design team (~10 designers).
- Responsible to ensure required internal design reviews are performed
- Oversee multiple complex developments in parallel.
- Monitor the JIRA backlog and ensure it is up to date.
- Monitor and communicate the progress of the mechanical design team
- Responsible for the review of the simulated cockpit mechanical drawings
- Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues.
- Support all stakeholders as required (manufacturing, purchasing, project team, integration, installation)

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Several years of experience working at CAE or in the field of aeronautical simulation, an asset.
- Excellent team spirit and good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage time effectively and perform multiple tasks at a time.
- Ability to manage priorities in a context of multiple and complex projects.
- Mastery of mechanical engineering concepts.
- Mastery of CAD systems and word processing software and spreadsheets.
- Mastery of PLM systems.
- Proficiency in managing large assembly, drawing, sheetmetal and surface design.
- Mastery of Creo (Pro/Engineer). Experience with Solidworks or Catia an asset.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
