**BUS 4850-1 - Management Leadership Skills (Online)**

In this course, learners are provided with tools and exercises that are used to develop self-awareness, creativity, conflict resolution, and empowerment skills. Learners begin a process of self-assessment which can continue to serve their development as managers after the course is completed.

**BUS 4950-1 - Business Research I (Online)**

This required course examines the general methodology of conducting business research. The student will use the principles acquired in class to prepare and present a substantial paper on a research topic chosen in consultation with a faculty supervisor.

**BUS 6610-1 - International Capstone Project**

This course provides students with an opportunity to work on a live project for a local company seeking to enter new international markets or to establish new international operations. Working in teams, students will draw on skills, concepts, and knowledge acquired throughout the MBA program. Students will develop a business plan for entry into the chosen location. Students will also deliver a public presentation with recommendations for the particular company.

**BUS 7590-1 - The Impact of Climate Change on Business**

This course provides the knowledge and skills for an informed understanding of climate change science, policy, and business. Students will develop skills to critically evaluate scenarios for future climates, assess the effectiveness of different policy approaches, and determine suitable business responses to the climate change challenge. Assignments will focus on how climate change influences product quality and markets, and the important role of climate change in business risk assessment.

**BUS 7950-3 - Special Topics: Creating and Sustaining Customer Value**

This course takes a whole-company approach to creating and executing an industry-beating customer value strategy. Success in competing internationally requires firms to ensure all elements of the value chain are oriented to compete effectively and drive sustainable customer value. This course is intended to promote real-world learning and management skills through cases, lectures, and in-class participation and teamwork. Topics include value chain analysis and development, competitor analysis, customer engagement methods, financial and other performance measurement, innovation, and business strategy. The complexities of the global business environment make this course well suited to marketers, strategists, and other key functions of the organization.

**BUS 7950-2 - Special Topics: Global Issues and Challenges in a VUCA World**

This course employs the VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) framework to help students understand how some of the major challenges facing the world today are affecting (or will soon affect) businesses globally. Topics covered include international trade and supply and value chains; food security; migration, poverty, and social unrest; sustainability and climate change; technological innovation and disruption; and cyber security. By emphasizing the interconnectedness of these economic, geopolitical, environmental, and social issues, this course aims to prepare students for future leadership positions in our VUCA world. The course brings in renowned guest speakers and relies heavily on in-class discussions and idea sharing to encourage students to think about and engage with today’s most pressing global issues.
