Building Caretaker

Highwood Centre is a modern event facility located in downtown High River. Boasting over 22,000 square feet, we are seeking a professional, motivated individual to assist us in keeping our Centre in pristine condition.

This position also requires event set up and take down assistance ( Setting up tables and chairs etc.) when required.

Scissor Lift experience and certification required.

Hours of work varies dependent on business need minimum 20 hours per week. This position includes benefits package.

**Key Responsibilities include;**
**- **maintaining the cleanliness of all Highwood Centre areas including washrooms, office, foyers and hallways, windows, kitchen, banquet rooms.
- maintaining all banquet event rooms inclusive of floors, walls, windows and fixtures
- maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor areas inclusive of winter snow maintenance
- buffing, waxing floor areas using a commercial floor scrubber, vacuum and floor buffer.
- assisting with preventative maintenance tasks
- identifying deficiencies and reporting to Centre management
- assist with the upkeep and organization of storage rooms
- ensure cleaning, paper, toiletry and chemical supplies inventory is maintained at par levels
- opportunity to assist in other areas as required
- performing general maintenance duties including, but not limited to, painting, minor wall repairs, light bulb replacement.
- use of the scissor lift for maintenance tasks and/or event set up requirements.

**Education and Experience**

High School diploma required.

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role

Scissor lift experience - valid certification mobile elevating work platforms certificate and fall arrest required.

Competencies

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Self-motivated with the ability to work with mínimal supervision.

Competencies and experience in trades work considered an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week

**Experience**:

- janitorial: 2 years (preferred)
- General Building Maintenance: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Scissor Lift /Fall Arrest (preferred)
