Surgical Processor

**Your Opportunity**:
Innisfail has an exciting opportunity for a Surgical Processor position. We are excited to be working on expanding our programs in alignment with the Alberta Surgical Initiative and are looking for a dedicated Surgical Processor to join our team. The Surgical Processor performs a variety of tasks associated with the sterilization and reassembly of hospital supplies, equipment, and surgical instruments in accordance with established Alberta Health Services’ standards and practices. You will be responsible for Collecting, sorting, and dismantling soiled instruments and equipment then decontaminating and reassembling instruments and equipment used in patient care. As a Surgical Processor you will inspect, sort, assemble, test and package operating room instrument sets ensuring all instruments are fully assembled and functioning for end users. Innisfail is a hidden gem located in Central Alberta, 31 km south of Red Deer on the QE II. Innisfail boasts several excellent recreational facilities including the Aquatic Centre, the Innisfail Arena, many parks and trails, and the Learning Centre which houses an extensive library and community program room. Innisfail hosts a Weekend of Wheels event every September that attracts visits from across Canada.

**Description**:
As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
