This position will report to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman.

What you will do:

- Execute and supervise the work tasks for the welding and coating department
- Maintain a safe working environment by upholding standards, being active and knowledgeable in safety programs and responding to crew safety concerns
- Schedule daily work assignments for the crew
- Assist in the planning process for the crew
- Conduct and document regular safety meetings
- Understand and abide by the collective agreement and relevant regulations
- Execute cost saving opportunities when available
- Maintain a high level of reliability in the area
- Technical support for Project Engineering initiatives

What you will bring:

- Effective engagement and daily communication of work tasks
- Good computer skills, including the use of EAM software and Microsoft Office
- Organized to develop a daily schedule with mínimal break in work
- Understanding of welding quality assurance programs
- Regular assessment of trade skills and development of training plans
- Understanding of industrial coatings and continued education of new technology
- Must hold a Journeyperson certificate in welding or related trade
- Must hold and maintain certification as a CWB welding supervisor
- Minimum 5 years shop fabrication experience
- High attention to detail and very accurate with ability to read engineered drawings
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED Equivalency
