**Position Scope**:
The ILS Coordinator, under the direction of, and reporting to their Coordinator of Community Supports, and in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards, is responsible for the efficient operation of ILS community homes and programs. The ILS Coordinator is directly responsible for all aspects of services delivery, staff leadership and performance management to ensure a cohesive staff team and quality resident supports.

**Principle Responsibilities**:
**Operational support** - Provide daily leadership and direction to the ILS staff to ensure quality supports are delivered for residents, based on resident choice, and supporting all rights. Ensure individual plans are conducted regularly, including physical, psychological, family, and spiritual supports and lead referral/admission process. Ensure medications, wellness supports, community activities and transportation supports are delivered, consistent with resident choice. Monitor CareCrew daily and action follow up IRs and other documentation. On call duties as operationally required.

**Legislative compliance - **Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and licensing requirements that are applicable to the home or program’s operations; provide leadership to direct reports in the consistent management and interpretation of the Collective Agreement; participate in inter-disciplinary meetings; contribute to assessments and interviews for potential permanent and respite admissions. Monitor policy adherence and recommend updates as required.

**Liaison - **Liaise with families, outside agencies, and stakeholders and participate in meetings with funder regarding resident issues, successes, and concerns. Collaborate with DCS around the development of new ILS community capacity, based on individual choice.

**Human resources - **Deliver a comprehensive human resources plan, including attendance management, disciplinary, and training requirements; oversee postings, complete orientations, and assign staff based on their skills and abilities; participate in ongoing professional development activities; design and deliver training and support staff participating in professional development; complete performance appraisals annually for direct reports.

**Accountability - **Provide a work environment that supports professional accountability and development; recommend and collaborate in the development and ongoing compliance monitoring of policies and procedures that support the effective operation of the department and organization. Maintain clear and accurate records of pertinent data; oversee the incident reporting process via Care Crew and ensure remedial action is taken appropriately; promote continuing personal and professional development of both residents and staff; ensure OHS, fire and EMO plans are known and followed by staff. Ensure the home is well maintained.

**Minimum Education and Qualifications**:

- a. Bachelor’s degree with preference for social sciences with a minimum of five years senior management experience in ILS or an equal combination of education, training and work experience as assessed by the CEO
- b. Demonstrated ILS supervisory leadership experience, including crisis and change management
- c. Excellent verbal and written communication
- d. Demonstrated ability to develop and assess programs based on resident goals
- e. Demonstrated understanding of the Roadmap and Remedy reports and the ability to influence partners around implementation to the benefit of residents
- f. DCS core requirements as required

**Special Skills and Knowledge**:

- a. Ability to take charge and provide effective directives in emergency situations.
- b. Good judgment in supervising staff and problem solving.
- c. Demonstrated initiative and leadership in anticipating and correcting problems.
- d. Good critical thinking skills.

**Type and Level of Supervision**:
This position functions with a high degree of autonomy and little direct supervision.

**Physical Demands**:
Mainly administrative, however, some increased physical activity may be required occasionally.

**Working Environment**:
Community based requiring travel to sites.

**SAFETY**:
Participate in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills in a safe and professional manner and stay updated on Fire & EMO Plans. Support workplace safety with human resource support.
