Manager of AcuFast GeneLink SK Boar Stud in Spiritwood, SK, reporting directly to the

Production Manager. In this full-time role, you will provide leadership and management of a new business. You will collaborate closely with customers (both external and internal), and operating teams to manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and equipment, ensuring a top-quality product leaves the stud. Overall, this position offers the chance to lead and motivate the team to achieve their best performance.

**This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not**

**limited to**:

- Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to all team members. o Set clear expectations and motivate the team to meet or exceed production goals. o Provide coaching and training on job requirements, SOPs, biosecurity protocols, health, and safety regulations, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Customer Facing: Liaise with customers getting semen from stud.
- Business Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day management and P&L of stud.
- Administrative duties: o Preparing semen reports and conducting performance reviews to ensure proper documentation and evaluation of team members’ work. o Coordinating the submission of samples to external parties for quality control and diagnostics. o Maintaining detailed and accurate records on all animals as requested, i.e.: pig identification. o Coordinate boar flow (entering and exiting quarantine and boar stud). o Coordinate courier deliveries.
- Data Analysis: o Analyze boar production results to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions to adjust the team’s daily activities to maximize production efficiency and effectiveness. o Ensure proper documentation for Export sales.
- Animal Welfare: Ensuring proper health, handling, and comfort of animals is a top priority for all staff. This includes implementing best practices for animal care, monitoring their condition, and taking necessary actions to maintain their well-being.
- Health and Safety: Ensuring team members are working safely and performing all job duties under safety protocols. Regular safety training and inspections should be conducted to minimize the risk of accidents.
- Biosecurity: Ensuring all staff and visitors follow biosecurity protocol. This involves implementing necessary measures, providing training, and conducting regular audits.
- Performing other general farm duties as required.

- Experience with boar semen & boar studs,
- Understanding of swine reproduction,
- Leadership experience,
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with great attention to detail,
- Post-secondary training in Animal Science or Reproduction is an asset,
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Self-motivated and reliable,
- Understanding of PRISM software is preferred but not required,
- Demonstrates a strong technical sense and understanding of swine production,
- Able to manage priorities and solve problems,
