Position: Porter

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

Position Summary: Responsibilities to set up, maintain and clean

meeting and banquet functions and assist Guest Services Representatives in delivery of room

service and miscellaneous guest needs of the

hotel while providing customer service excellence.

**Specific Duties**:
Ø Understands and abides by company policies and procedures; can effectively communicate them.

Ø Set up meeting rooms according to catering contracts. Set ups include providing tablecloths, water, glasses, coffee cups and items as listed on contract.

Ø Greets customers in meeting rooms, prior to their meeting start and offers assistance to convener.

Ø Clean meeting rooms upon completion of function and reset the room for next function. Vacuum, spot clean walls and doors, wipe chairs, sanitize sink & counter and all washable services.

Ø Refresh meeting rooms during lunch breaks - including refreshing water, removal of garbage and dirty dishes.

Ø Responds quickly to guest inquiries in friendly and efficient manner.

Ø Keep storage areas clean and orderly.

Ø Prepare and deliver room service deliveries and other guest requirements, as ordered.

Ø Regularly collect and return dirty room service trays to kitchen.

Ø Is knowledgeable with audio/visual setup

Ø Luggage delivery as needed

Ø General knowledge of maintenance fixes (remotes, shower diverters, A/C units, TV’s, etc.

Ø Cleans kitchen area daily

Ø Stocks porter area

Ø Removes linen at end of shifts, brings to basement

Ø Informs F&B Supervisor about broken items or items to be ordered (pens, paper, etc.)

Ø Will be required to work afternoons, nights, days, weekends and holidays

Ø Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.

Ø Is able to lift heavy items, 60lbs or more

Ø Works and safe manner following all safety rules and regulations, reports any hazards

Ø Ensures all media in seminar rooms are up to date (WIFI codes, flyers, etc.)

Ø Has a general knowledge of hotel areas (washrooms, restaurant hours, pool and fitness room hours etc.) to ensure guest satisfaction

Ø Must be able to move, lift, reach, carry, push, & place objects 55lbs or more.

Ø Any other assigned duties by management

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 0-25 per week

**Salary**: $15.81 per hour
