Caledonia, Canada North Queens Heritage House Full time

**Description**:
The Curator, under the direction of the Heritage Society’s Executive, shall be responsible for the overall operations at the North Queens Heritage House. The House is a small museum located in Caledonia, Nova Scotia. The venue for the museum is a beautiful old farmhouse, which was originally built by Milton Foster Douglas in 1854. The museum hosts several items representative of the period as well as public records for the area.

**Responsibilities: Computer skills a must.**
- Research and compile historical information
- Learn as much local history, family history and history of the museum as possible
- Collect and catalogue artifacts
- Plan and prepare exhibits and displays
- Record revenue taken in by the museum through donations, the sale of publications and event tickets
- Advise executives on maintenance issues
- Oversee the publication of museum publications
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the museum and property
- Schedule and supervise summer students and related duties
- Assist with fundraising projects
- Oversee advertising and marketing
- Interview and record interviews of historical interest

**Salary**:
Pay will range from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on the applicant’s experience concerning the responsibilities of this position.

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
