FINANCE MANAGER (FULL-TIME)

**REPORTING TO**:CHIEF AND COUNCIL

**DEADLINE**:JUNE21, 2024

**SALARY**: $100,000.00

**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial information to the band office leadership.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting and auditing requirements.
- Provide financial guidance and support to band office departments and programs to help achieve their goals and objectives.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a governmental or non-profit organization.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations relevant to Indigenous communities.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
