Within the Infrastructure & Public Works Division, the Utility Operator reports to the Utility Operator Foreperson. The Utility Operator is responsible for assisting in the construction, operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and the operation and maintenance of the District’s water treatment and distribution systems and wastewater treatment and collection systems, as assigned by the Utility Operator Foreperson/Lead operator.

**HOURS OF WORK**

This is a temporary position based on 40 hours per week, located within the District of Tofino, with a one year term starting tentatively December 23, 2024 and ending on January 9, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Regular workday hours are between 6:00am and 7:00pm, Sunday through Saturday. Schedules will be discussed and completed in advance.

*Specific certifications will allow for an increase from the base wage. This is dependent on certifications completed through the Environmental Operators Certification Program including EOCP Water, Wastewater and Water Distribution Tickets (Levels I-IV). This compensation schedule is under review.

Pay: $29.96-$33.29 per hour
