**POSITION: Student Opportunity - Equipment Deployment**
**UNIT: Information Technology**
**STATUS**:Temporary Full Time (approximately May to September; may end sooner/be extended)**

Reporting to the Manager of IT, this position will work with other team members in the ITS Department to plan, prepare, and execute the repair, maintenance, and deployment of computing equipment. The successful applicant will identify and learn software and hardware being used and assist in planning and prioritizing activities for the preparation of equipment. They will retrieve equipment from storage areas, conduct assembly and configuration testing in preparation for delivery (e.g. computer workstations and associated components, mobile computing devices). They will assist in the decommissioning of IT equipment and help manage the inventory. They will provide end user training on the updated equipment, perform administrative tasks, and run reports as required to support the equipment deployment activities.
The successful applicant will assist with updating documentation and support of administrative activities as needed. There may be opportunities to work with and job shadow various positions within IT.
**HOURS**:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with possibility of occasional hours on weekends or evenings.
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Minimum one year completed in a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field.
- Some experience in a providing customer support is an asset.
- Intermediate understanding of computer systems, laptops, electronics, hardware & software.
- Effective end user trouble shooting skills.
- Some experience supporting Windows-based computer systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work calmly to meet tight deadlines and work in a time sensitive environment with competing demands and interruptions.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated behaviours aligned with STEGH values.
