Alarm System Technician

**Key Job Responsibilities**:
- Assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic equipment from Bill of Material, drawings and manufacturers instructions while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Program, test, troubleshoot and adjust systems as directed.
- Interconnect all assemblies using proper wire techniques as directed.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable codes/standards and current technology.
- Maintain records and accurately complete all necessary paperwork pertaining to stock requisitions and part shipments.
- Pull parts from stock for projects being assembled.
- Identify to the manager any repetitive defects found in products.
- Follow processes for troubleshooting and reporting defective products to the manufacturer.
- connect test fixtures, or harnesses, as required to test and troubleshoot assemblies.
- Keep work and stock areas clean and tidy.
- Observe all industrial and safety rules.
- Responsible for verifying projects are assembled as per design details and regulatory standards.
- Communications with Team Members and field personnel for each project.
- Available to travel to project sites and provide on-site technical expertise / assembly support.
- All other duties as directed by the manager.
**Qualifications**:
- College/University graduate from a recognized Electrical/Electronic Technician Program, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the electronics field, or a related discipline.
- Must have knowledge of industry regulatory documents.
- working knowledge of Windows operating software.
- ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment and wiring.
**Additional information about the position**:
- Use of hand tools and test equipment such as: multimeters, screwdrivers, soldering iron, wire strippers, pliers, etc.
- Use of PC for programming or manufacturing documentation including various software tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, text editors.
- Ability to learn, through training, manufacturers configuration utility software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and able to work under pressure.
- Adaptable to changing environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
