Accounting Clerk

Foremost has an opening for a co-op / summer term Accounting Clerk located at our facility in Lloydminster. This position has the responsibility of assisting with the accurate processing of customer and vendor invoices as well as assisting with the monthly analysis of financial reports and data. This role will include broad areas of coverage, where responsibilities may be modified unilaterally by Foremost as required.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process customer and vendor invoices
- Review vendor invoices for appropriate documentation, backup & approval prior to payment
- Maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files
- Maintain an electronic filing system for all financial documents
- Monthly assistance with preparation of financial supporting schedules and journal entries
- Responsible for period-end close procedures
- Coverage of reception duties as required
- Other duties and projects as required
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 2nd year Accounting student
- Demonstrates basic use of MS Office systems, with strong MS Excel skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
- Analytical with a solution-based focus
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- A high level of attention to detail is required to be successful in this role
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
**About Foremost**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months
**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
