**Construction Inspector
- Full-Time**

**Primary Location: Greater Toronto Area / Collingwood, Ontario**

UWGL is currently seeking a **Construction Inspector **for civil works related to land development projects. Preference will be given to those with prior inspection experience of bulk earthworks, storm and sanitary sewer, watermain, site plans, landscape and road construction. Proficiency in AutoCAD civil design is beneficial. This position will require regular on-site construction inspection at various sites located in Southern Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inspect and oversee the construction of roads, water and wastewater servicing, storm water management and grading/drainage works to ensure compliance with design and specifications;
- Track and report the status of all construction inspection activities by maintaining accurate daily records including completing daily inspection reports in a timely manner;
- Measure and record as-constructed information;
- Assist with the development of construction guidelines and review of agreements as needed to ensure compliance is maintained between agency stakeholders;
- Attend and participate in site meetings, record and distribute minutes of meetings as required;
- Liaise and coordinate with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders; and,
- Assist with the preparation of tender packages, cost estimates and contract documents, and other contract administration works as needed on projects.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program from an accredited academic institution recognized by PEO or OACETT is an asset;
- Working towards or has already obtained their CET or C.Tech designation through OACETT;
- Experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop, and Civil-3D is an asset;
- Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license with an acceptable driving record;
- Well versed in engineering and construction principles, and familiar with municipal design specifications and standard form contracts (e.g., OPS, CCDC);
- Demonstrated familiarity and compliance with Health & Safety standards on construction sites;
- Proven ability to interpret technical reports and engineering drawings, designs and standards;
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Ability to troubleshoot with various parties in the field and collaborate with the associated Project Manager and/or Client.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
