**Our Team**:
As part of our team, you provide underground geological services to the Copper Cliff Mine Complex to help ensure the safe and efficient extraction of mineral resources. The role will involve lithological mapping, grade control and working closely with other geologists to optimize ore recoveries.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a fixed term **Geologist/Sr. Geological Technologist, Local 2020-05, for an 18 month term, **to join our **Copper Cliff Mine **in **Sudbury.**

Geologists provide geological services such as underground grade control, mapping, mineability and dilution etc., to mine operations for the proper execution of Life of Mine plan. Execute diamond drilling programs, log core, and interpret the results to explore for additional reserves and define current resources and reserves. Construct and re-evaluate resource wireframes to optimize mineralizing domains for resource model design and evaluation. Maximize profitability by increasing mineability and minimizing dilution through design and on-site direction.

**Accountabilities**

In this position you will:

- Follow departmental safety program.
- Provide grade control monitoring for assigned area in the mine.
- Communication of daily geology information to operations by clear, concise verbal and written instructions.
- Communication of cutoff grade calls to operations in order to maximize ore recovery.
- Conduct geological and structural back mapping.
- Assist in the preparation of diamond drill layouts for definition drilling and log the associated core.
- Collect geological data (including IFG probing) for the purpose of ore interpretation and reserve and resource calculations.
- Communicate changes in ore interpretation to engineering and operations.
- Communicate observed and potential safety hazards to mine supervision.
- Communication of cut-off grade calls to operations department for area of a mine.
- Provide geological and structural information (ore outlines) for drive layouts for assigned area of a mine.
- Carry out specific accountabilities as assigned by the Chief Mine Geologist.
- Identify, analyze and recommend opportunities for safety, productivity and cost improvements.
- Frequent underground travel is required.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
**Professional Qualifications**: Progressive eligibility for APGO, registered GIT

**Computer Skills**: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint Outlook, and Teams. Demonstrated proficiency in Datamine, MineCad and Desik
