:
Responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of Barilo’s Fine Sausages Facility's food safety programs through task review, verification and monitoring activities, as well as program review and auditing functions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Verify SQF, HACCP and Food Safety programs for compliance against regulatory and third-party standards. Review, develop and update policies and procedures and programs.
- Work with CFIA to complete daily tasks, export documents in a proficient, effective manner.
- Assist in product quality evaluations and testing and perform follow up activities to ensure the timely completion of corrective actions associated with audit observations and product quality issues
- Review, modify, and submit the product labels according to regulatory requirements.
- Interact effectively, constructively and productively with personnel and management at all levels within the organization
- Direct and retrain employees if circumstances dictate
- Prepare for and participate in internal and third party audits where required
- Conduct Mock Recall according to schedule
- Maintain records as per schedule.
- Collect the product and swab samples for further lab or internal testing. Perform the tests. Do and or monitor the positive releases as required
- Prepare and deliver training material to all personnel as required. Examine the results of studying.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:

- This individual will work closely with Production Supervisors and Team Members to ensure the food safety and quality systems are in control, fully compliant and challenged for continuous improvement.
- Community College degree in Biology, Food Science, Microbiology or higher
- Knowledgeable of GMP, FSEP, HACCP, SQF and BRC
- 1 to 2 years experience in the food industry is required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Self starter who works well under pressure and the ability to meet deadlines
- Good problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, paying attention to details and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
