Arborist - Knuckle Boom Crane Operator

**DESCRIPTION**:
We are currently looking for a motivated, responsible and knowledgeable Arborist/Mobile Crane Operator to operate a 0-8-ton knuckle boom crane for the safe removal and pruning of trees.
**QUALIFICATION**
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner for tree removals and pruning
- Ensure proper clean-up of job sites
- Ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes and specifications
- Complete paperwork as required, i.e. statistic sheets, time sheets and accident reports
- Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, i.e. daily circle checks, performing
preventive maintenance, minor repairs and maintaining a clean cab
- Develop and implement a traffic protection plans in accordance with Ministry of
Transportation of Ontario Traffic Manual, Book 7: Temporary Conditions
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Knowledge/experience with pruning and removal of trees
- Must have a basic understanding of equipment operations
- Strong leadership skills
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Provide excellent customer service; respond to needs of all customers and staff as
required
**Requirements**:
- climbing experience is an asset
- Graduation from a two-year community college program in Arboriculture or Forestry
and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Experience with the use of cranes for tree removal (preferred)
- Possess a valid (0-8 Ton) Mobile Crane Operator and Safe Use of Rigging certificates
(preferred)
- Valid unrestricted Class "DZ" or “AZ” driver's license held in good standing with proven
capability in the operation of large GVW vehicles
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Occasional out of town work
- Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset
**PAY/BENEFITS**
- Benefits after 3 months
- Salary range: $27 - $32 per hour based on experience
