**About the role**

We’re looking for an Underwriter to join our growing team in the Intact Prestige Unit As an Underwriter, Prestige, your work will have a big impact on our High-Net-Worth Business unit. People will count on you to provide creative solutions for clients with unique needs. This position can be based in Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary or Winnipeg. **This position is a 12-month secondment/contract.**

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

- Develop and manage relationships with an assigned group of brokers to develop a lasting and profitable relationship, including broker visits
- With a strong sales ability, you will develop profitable business relationships with brokers and identify opportunities to promote Intact’s Prestige insurance products and increase sales
- Underwrite risks and make sound business decisions that contribute to profitable growth, negotiating terms with brokers
- Determine and control risk acceptance, risk improvement, declination of Prestige policies for Western Canada
- Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel contracts following Intact’s Prestige underwriting policies/procedures, applicable laws and regulations
- Review property appraisal reports and make recommendations
- Participate in large loss reviews
- Identify and recommend efficiencies and/or technology changes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
- Work closely and collaborating with other internal departments

What you bring to the table:

- Minimum 1+ year of underwriting experience
- Exposure with high-net-worth clientele is strong asset
- University degree/college diploma is an asset
- Completion or commitment to achieve Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- Legendary sales and customer service skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change in a dynamic team environment
- Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Occasional travel required
