**Operations Clerk**:
**Temporary Full-Time 9 Months (35 hours per week)**

**Requirements**:

- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by commercial courses, plus sound related clerical experience;
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and previous database experience;
- Experience with iCity and Tempest preferred;
- Considerable knowledge of the applicable department policies, practices, procedures, bylaws and Collective Agreement, as it relates to processing timesheets;
- Sound knowledge of the City's engineering operations and the functions of the department as related to the work performed;
- Sound knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, and punctuation;
- Sound knowledge of modern office practices and procedure, including recordkeeping, filing and related clerical functions;
- Ability to perform moderately complex clerical duties with accuracy and detail and in accordance with established rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Ability to use electronic spreadsheet, database, word processing software in order to access and/or create spreadsheets, produce charts and maintain statistics and related data;
- Ability to maintain accurate electronic (Sharepoint) and paper records;
- Ability to compose routine correspondence and arrange format for reports, work orders, invoices, mail outs, files and related material efficiently and accurately with a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and to deal effectively with staff and the public in providing information and assistance and resolving routine inquires and complaints in a professional manner;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while dealing with contentious matters and difficult customers;
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage concurrent projects and work independently with considerable independence. Tasks may be performed under periodic work pressure, and clerk must exercise initiative and make decisions in accordance with applicable rules, regulations and policies;.
- Ability to work well with others and make a positive contribution to a team environment;
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license with acceptable driving record (preferred);
