UX Specialist

**Description**

Our Client is seeking the services of an experienced User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) Designer with a strong Visual Design background to join its Agile development team. They expect an experienced UI/UX Designer with 10+ years of experience in web design. This includes experience with the use of design tools, software, and languages, such as CSS/SASS, JavaScript, Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Figma and Illustrator.

The UI/UX Designer may work remotely or in Victoria. Must be a Canadian resident and live in Canada.

**Experience Required/Mandatory Skills**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equivalent is required
- A minimum of 3 years experience mentoring, providing concise design direction and leading diverse teams including UX designers, production designers and developers
- A minimum of 3 years experience preparing and presenting work to management level stakeholders while meeting all strategic design objectives
- Expertise in the use of current design tools and software including Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Figma, and illustrator
- A minimum of 3 years experience designing interactive projects to meet AA web accessibility standards
- A minimum of 3 years experience working as a part of an Agile team to incrementally deliver value for the users of a product or digital service
- Expertise in typography, visual design layouts, prototyping, icon design required
- Experience working creatively within the constraints of a mandatory corporate design system
- Demonstrated user experience design best practices

**Nice To Have Skills**
- Experience with providing design direction for illustration, animation, photography and video
- Design agency experience is an asset

**Location**
- Victoria/Remote

**Work Environment**
- 1 year with 2 possible 1-year extensions

**Hourly Rate**
- Negotiable
