**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced **Controller** to join our team at our head office in Mississauga, ON. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing key insights for decision-making. This is a full-time permanent position, offering the opportunity to contribute to our rapidly growing company and potentially grow into higher leadership roles.

**What you will do**:

- **Oversee accounting operations**: Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- **Financial leadership**: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and tax filings.
- **Budgeting and forecasting**: Manage the development and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- **Internal controls**: Design and maintain an effective internal control environment to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- **Audit and compliance**: Coordinate external audits, prepare for audits, and ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations.
- **Strategic support**: Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support business decision-making.
- **System improvements**: Lead and implement financial system upgrades and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- **Team leadership**: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- **Operation improvement**:Improve efficiency of accounting operation, streamline operation and process flow to best suit the business needs.

**Who you are**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) designation. A US CPA is an asset.
- **7+ years** of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within high-growth industries or tech companies.
- Experience in leading and mentoring accounting teams.
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and internal controls.
- Extensive knowledge and proficient with **QuickBooks**.
- Advanced skills in **Excel** (pivot tables, lookups, macros) and financial modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English is required. Mandarin and Cantonese language skills are considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on process optimization and problem-solving.
- Willing to be hands-on when necessary.

**Technical Skills**:

- Strong understanding of **GAAP/IFRS**:

- Experience with **QuickBooks**.
- Proficiency in **Excel** for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with **automated payment systems** and ACH transactions.
- Knowledge of corporate tax compliance, auditing processes, and internal controls.
