**Research Scientist Ph.D. or Research Associate M.Sc. Organic Process chemistry**

We are a dedicated, dynamic team, constantly looking to improve, to share ideas and to grow. To support our expansion, we are currently looking for a Research Scientist or Research Associate specialized in process development in organic and synthetic chemistry to fill one permanent position. Based on lead R&D products, you will design and develop all parameters needed to transfer synthetic procedures from lab scale (1-10g) to pilot scale (1-5KG). During this process you will improve the following:

- Reaction time and yields
- Isolation and purification of final products
- Overall cost per KG
- Any other parameter that insures industrialization of final product at ton scale.

**Education**:Ph.D or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry recognized in Canada.

**Knowledge and years of experience required**:

- In-depth understanding and proven experience in process chemistry optimization from lab to pilot scales
- Experience in analytical methods such as HPLC, MS, NMR.
- Experience or knowledge in green chemistry (an asset)
- Member of the Ordre des Chimistes du Québec or in the process of becoming one

**Languages**: French and English, oral and written.

- Self-motivated and able to meet objectives with mínimal supervision
- Excellent teamwork and reporting/communication skills both written and oral
- Sense of initiative and responsibility

**Description du poste **:Se basant sur les produits ‘Lead’ de R&D, vous dirigerez, concevrez et développerez les paramètres nécessaires pour transférer les procédures synthétiques de l'échelle de laboratoire (1-10g) à l'échelle pilote (1-5KG). Au cours de ce processus, vous améliorerez les éléments suivants:

- Temps de réaction et rendement
- Isolation et purification des produits finaux
- Coût global par KG
- Tout autre paramètre qui assure l'industrialisation du produit final à l'échelle de la tonne.

**Formation requise**: Doctorat (Ph.D) ou Maitrise (M.Sc.) en Chimie Organique de procédé reconnus au Canada.

**Connaissances et expérience requises**:

- Compréhension approfondie et expérience éprouvée de l'optimisation de la chimie des procédés, du laboratoire à l'échelle pilote
- Expérience dans les méthodes analytiques telles que HPLC, MS, RMN.
- Expérience ou connaissances en chimie verte (un atout)
- Membre de l'Ordre des Chimistes du Québec ou en voie de le devenir

**Langues**: Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit.

- Souci du détail, précision et excellentes capacités d'analyse
- Motivation et capacité d'atteindre les objectifs avec un minimum de supervision
- Excellentes compétences en matière de travail d'équipe et de rapport/communication tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral

- Compétences éprouvées en résolution de problèmes techniques
- Proaction dans le développement et la promotion d'une culture de sécurité.
