Ø **Contract Term**:
Contract Period: Feb. - June 2025, and Sept. 2025 - Aug. 2026 (17 months in total).

Ø **Primary Age Group**:Preschool (2.5-4 years of age)

Ø **Pay Range**:$24.00-$26.50 per hour; 7 paid hours per day Monday to Friday (excluding Provincial Wage Enhancement top-up, if applicable)

Ø **Qualifications**:

- holds an Early Childhood Education diploma from an accredited institution;
- is a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education;
- has a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Check;
- holds a valid Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate;
- provides an up-to-date immunization record as per Toronto Public Health requirements for childcare workers;
- minimum of 2 years’ Canadian work experience working with children ages 2.5-5 years of age (preschool and kindergarten);
- possesses well-developed oral and written language skills in English;
- ability to communicate with families in a confident, articulate, and warm manner;
- possesses well-developed interpersonal skills and is able to work independently as well as within a team;
- experienced with basic technology, such as MS Office and using a tablet;
- has working knowledge of relevant requirements and legislation, including the Child Care and Early Years Act, City of Toronto’s Assessment for Quality Improvement, Toronto Public Health Infection Prevention, etc.;
- ability to manage time and workload, meet deadlines, etc.;
- experienced in behavioural guidance skills, including positive reinforcement, redirection strategies, and co-regulation techniques;
- experienced in performing ongoing assessment and writing children’s reports;
- experienced with children requiring extra support needs;
- (a must) ability to perform engaging circles with preschool children involving storytelling, singing action songs, etc.
- is sensitive and respectful towards different cultures and family units;
- has a genuine love towards the Early Childhood profession and working with young children;
- has knowledge of pictorial documentation of learning experiences;
- 2-3 references required (in childcare settings)

Ø **Responsibilities**:

- works a 7-hour shift from Monday to Friday primarily with preschool children;
- hours are typically from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (must be flexible with changes in shifts);
- works with the childcare team to ensure that programs are in accordance with the CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen?, and the City’s AQI program;
- develops and implement individual and group program plans incorporating the HDLH framework;
- adheres to all Centre policies and procedures;
- carries out minor administrative duties, such as creating attendance sheets, performing observations, organizing bulletin boards, etc.
- implements and participates in creative, cognitive, sensory, and physical activities with the children;
- sets firm and age-appropriate boundaries with the children; is emotionally ready for the children on a day-to-day basis;
