The success of the operation of both Bruce County Long Term Care Homes is built on the foundation that this is a true ‘home’ for all its Residents. Home is a place where residents may live with dignity and in security, safety, and comfort and have their physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural needs adequately met. This strong foundational belief is encompassed and supported by the legislation and regulations highlighted in “The Residents’ Rights” and the “Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021”
Both homes operate as municipal homes, and the not-for profit structure allows for a level of care that is of exceptional quality while also being transparent in operation and accountability.

About the Job

Reporting to the Administrator, this role is responsible for providing oversight and leadership to the infection prevention and control (IPAC) program (practices and protocols) and staff development/education program. The role is responsible to ensure regulatory compliance and implementation of clinical and non-clinical care standards and best practices according to the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and ON Regulation 246/22.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, I.e., medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology.
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in the health sector
- As per Ontario Regulation 246/22 and Fixing Long-Term Care Home Act, 2021
- Within three years of s. 102 (6) of the Regulation coming into force, the IPAC lead shall have current certification in infection control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (ss. 102(5) and 102(6) of the Regulation).
- Experience working in long-term care settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for adult education and group facilitation.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders to achieve goals and tailor education content for the target audience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in the care of the geriatric population, as well as training in dementia awareness considered an asset.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, including evenings, nights and weekends, as required.
- Proficiency with Point Click Care (eHCR) considered an asset.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- TB 2 Step Skin Test.
