**Position Summary**

We are looking for a Trucking Planner, who will be at the heart of ensuring the seamless movement of goods across various destinations. The Trucking Transport Planner is pivotal in meticulously planning routes, optimizing loads, and coordinating schedules to ensure efficient and timely deliveries. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, you'll navigate logístical challenges and regulatory requirements while maintaining open lines of communication with drivers, dispatchers, and all internal stakeholders. In this dynamic role, you'll play a key part in driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional service in the trucking transportation industry.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Load Planning and Optimization: Analyze customer orders, shipment requirements, and available transportation resources to create optimal load plans. Determine the most efficient routes, modes of transportation, and load configurations to maximize capacity utilization and minimize transportation costs.
- Shipment Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer service to coordinate shipment schedules and ensure timely order fulfillment. Communicate with carriers/dispatch to arrange pickups, deliveries, and transit times.
- Carrier Management: Evaluate carrier capabilities, rates, and performance to select the most suitable carriers for specific loads. Maintain strong relationships with carriers and monitor their performance to ensure compliance with service expectations.
- Route Optimization: Utilize routing software and transportation management systems to optimize routes and minimize mileage. Consider factors such as delivery schedules, fuel efficiency, traffic conditions, and legal regulations to determine the most efficient and cost-effective transportation routes.
- Load Documentation: Prepare accurate and complete load documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs documentation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, shipping regulations, and customer-specific instructions.
- Shipment Tracking and Communication: Track shipments throughout the transportation process, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues or delays. Communicate updates to internal teams and carriers to ensure transparency and timely resolution of transportation-related concerns.
- Cost Analysis and Reporting: Monitor transportation costs, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Prepare reports and provide insights to management regarding transportation performance, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identify potential transportation risks and proactively develop contingency plans. Monitor and address issues such as weather conditions, driver availability, equipment breakdowns, and traffic congestion to minimize disruptions and maintain shipment schedules.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and applicable laws. Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and requirements to ensure adherence and mitigate any potential compliance risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve load planning processes, transportation efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements, automation, and best practices in load planning and transportation management.

**Qualifications and Competencies**

- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in load planning, transportation, or logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of load planning techniques, transportation modes, and routing optimization.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in load documentation and data analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address shipment-related challenges and optimize load efficiency.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with customs and import/export procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $70,000.00 per hour
