**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Fashion Marketing Diploma is updating our qualified faculty list and vetting current instructors from across KPU. As a result of the curricular changes from our program review, the new program model started in Fall 2021 with an improved program. Calendar descriptions for each course are included at the end of the posting. We are seeking applicants who are qualified to teach one or a selection of the following courses:

- FMRK 1105 Digital Software for Fashion Marketing
- FMRK 1116 Apparel Industry
- FMRK 1151 Fashion Retail Work Experience
- FMRK 1205 Visual Communication for Fashion Marketing
- FMRK 1215 Textile Science
- FMRK 1250 Fashion and Consumers
- FMRK 2105 Visual Fashion Merchandising & Promotion
- FMRK 2115 Fashion Forecasting
- FMRK 2120 Fashion Writing
- FMRK 2205 Fashion Buying
- FMRK 2215 Fashion Events and Promotions
- FMRK 2240 Fashion Marketing Work Experience
- FMRK 2260 Entrepreneurial eCommerce for Fashion Marketing

**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**

Faculty members of FMRK are also expected to contribute and participate in any of the following:

- Curriculum development and review.
- Assisting students outside of scheduled class time.
- Preparation processes and site visits.
- Service and representation of the programme on various university committees, internally and externally.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Minimum required qualifications include:

- Post-secondary teaching experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Marketing or related disciplines or academic credentials
- Experience appropriate to areas of responsibility and at least three years of related work experience
- Minimum 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience or a teaching credential is preferred

**CALENDAR DESCRIPTIONS**

**FMRK 1105 Digital Software for Fashion Marketing**
Students will examine the capabilities of industry-standard productivity software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to develop solutions for fashion marketing related business activities. They will create and edit fashion marketing-related artwork and digital media using design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.

**FMRK 1116 Apparel Industry**
Students will acquire an historical awareness of the apparel industry and the current workings of the industry in local, national and global contexts. They will identify the sectors of the industry from raw materials through to design, production and marketing to the consumer. Through market research, students will attend events, analyze local markets, and network with industry professionals.

**FMRK 1151 Fashion Retail Work Experience**
Students will work 40 hours in the retail sector of the fashion apparel industry (paid or volunteer) in order to further their fashion marketing knowledge and skills.
