The Health Care Aide at Manning Community Health Centre provides personal care to Long Term Care Residents under the direction of a Staff Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with established care plans. The HCA provides encouragement and emotional support, ensuring the dignity of the resident is maintained. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

**Description**:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Work effectively as part of a nursing team. Understand and follow established policies and procedures. Relate to residents in a caring, professional manner with respect and dignity. Safely perform lifts/transfers of residents of varying size, and varying degrees of immobility. Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position: Stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift and carry. Be committed to promoting a positive work environment. Be able to work shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights & Weekends. Possess basic computer skills.
