The Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) seeks a qualified individual for the **interpreter or Translator** position. As an Interpreter or Translator, you provide interpretation and translation services for immigrants or refugees and recruit for the following positions in Calgary or Airdrie location:

**Responsibilities include**:

- Providing professional language interpretation/translation in different settings including in the community in various medical, legal, business, education, and other settings.
- Building excellent relationships with CCIS business clients and immigrant families.
- Demonstrating integrity and adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Attending meetings at different locations throughout Calgary, in person and online.
- Acting as a “fan of the program” (and CCIS), helping to promote it, representing it well, and contributing to its success.
- Contributing to an inclusive work environment through appropriate, effective communication and positive relationships.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with complementary community-based services.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in English communication and another language
- Language interpretation credentials: certification, memberships, training, or work experience
- Demonstrated experience providing language interpretation
- Enhanced interpreting skills through continued education training
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a positive attitude
- CILISAT / TIN # / ATIA membership is required
- Your own active liability insurance coverage
- An acceptable criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search that is recent (from within the last three months). This will be obtained as part of the selection process after an offer has been extended.
- All applicants must be legally eligible and entitled to work in Canada
