- The Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (MWI IUHSSC) is currently seeking to fill full-time day, evening at Ex-Hôpital de Lachine.
- The orderly is part of the care team and provides assistance with activities of daily living. As part of his/her duties, he/she:
- Ensures the hygiene, well-being and supervision of users;
- See to the comfort, general needs and occupation of users, in a safe environment;
- Assists users in their movements, provides transportation and may accompany them outside the establishment;
- Gives users basic care and communicates information to the care team regarding the health status and behaviour of users;
- May install equipment for which he/she is trained;
- Ensures the availability, maintenance and proper functioning of equipment and materials;
- Performs transportation of equipment, specimens and records.
- Requirements:
- Possesses a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) completed in Assistance to Persons in Health Care Facilities (APES), from a school recognized by the Ministry of Education (MANDATORY) OR completed in recognition of prior learning and competencies (RAC),
- OR Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) completed in Assistance to Persons in Institutions and at Home (APED),
- OR Completed a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Health, Assistance and Nursing Care (SASI),
- OR At least one year of successful study in a college and/or university nursing program,
- OR A diploma from outside Quebec in nursing or medicine recognized by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la diversité et de l'Inclusion (or Ministère de l'Immigration et des communautés culturelles)- Has completed and up to date BCPD and CPR training.
- Ability to organize and prioritize;
- Ability to provide basic care, assistance and monitoring in accordance with established practices;
- Ability to adapt to individual resident characteristics and situations;
- Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with a French and English-speaking clientele.
