**Summary**

The Dispatcher/Scheduler assures all routes are filled as assigned and bus operators are provided with timely instructions and responses to requests for operational information throughout the day. Assists with coordination of the daily operational activities of drivers regarding movement of vehicles. Provides constant communication with drivers. Provides receptionist and clerical support. This position responds to customer and team inquiries in a fast paced environment.

**Job Duties**

**Dispatcher & Scheduler / Administration**
- Schedule Operators and monitor check-in and pull-out times
- Manage vehicle assignments and employee assignments in Trapeze
- Manage routes and ensure trips are performed
- Address Passenger/Operators/vehicle emergencies and coordinate with Safety and Maintenance
- Customer service call function for specialized transit ride request input in Trapeze
- Answer incoming calls and two-way radio
- Gather and input daily trip data into database and spreadsheets i.e timesheets
- Analyze and evaluate routes and schedules for efficiency
- Monitor and control on-time performance of routes
- Assist with fare collections from drivers including fare reports
- Maintain filing system with office records
- On-call after hours phone rotation
- Access remote transit system and network from home as required
- Other office duties as assigned to assist General Manager, Finance, Safety and Maintenance
- Learn the use of Trapeze Novus system, for data input and client information request
- Daily dispatching functions as required
- Manage Vehicle Operator compensatory time input and time off requests
- As a front-line worker, present a positive and professional image of the organization to all visitors, suppliers, inquiries, and other interactions.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years dispatcher and/or scheduler, with transit related (demand response) experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills in Excel and Word, with knowledge of Trapeze Novus an asset
- Must have extensive knowledge of the roadways and landmarks in Waterloo Region. Comfort and ease with mapping. Ability to understand city street structure and to effectively communicate city and rural directions to others.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Pleasant and professional phone skills.

Ability to work as a part of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 27-30 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
