Palmer is seeking to hire a Junior Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist to support our Toronto office on due diligence and infrastructure projects across Ontario.

Responsibilities will include:

- Plan, coordinate and conduct hydrogeological field investigation programs including drilling, test pitting, and installation of monitoring wells;
- Install, monitoring and assess wetland mini‐piezometers, staff gauges and dataloggers;
- Site wide and Feature Based Water Budget Assessments;
- Data entry and Technical Report preparation;
- Design and implement groundwater field sampling and testing programs;
- Hydrogeological assessment for infrastructure and land development projects;
- Aquifer testing (slug tests and pump tests);
- Managing schedule and tasks;
- Working collaboratively and communicating effectively with the project team; and,
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols.

Work Location:
Qualifications:

- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or Engineering;
- Eligibility for membership of the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) or Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO);
- 1-3 years’ experience in the consulting industry or relevant industry;
- Hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation;
- Evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic);
- Wetland hydrology, ecology, groundwater/surface water interactions;
- Working knowledge of current environmental regulations;
- Ability to manage project workload and meet deliverable deadlines;
- Strong technical, oral, and written communication skills;
- Adaptable and able to work independently in various environments when required;
- Team player with good organizational skills; and
- Positive attitude.
