**The Opportunity**

ZS2 Technologies is seeking an experienced and highly motivated **Lab Technician** to join our innovative R&D team. Specializing in material science and CCUS, the Lab Technician will play a crucial role in supporting research, development, and quality control initiatives within our organization. Reporting to the Chief Technologies Officer and working closely with the research and engineering teams to test, analyze, and optimize materials and processes used in the development of our products. This is a junior position that will offer a strong foundation for further advancement within the sustainable building industry.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

Material Testing and Analysis:

- Conduct laboratory tests on raw materials, composites, and finished products to assess their mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
- Utilize specialized equipment, such as spectroscopy, microscopy, rheometers, and X-ray diffraction, to characterize material structures and identify potential improvements.

CCUS Implementation:

- Collaborate with the sustainability team to integrate carbon capture, utilization, and storage technologies into the manufacturing process.
- Assess the viability and effectiveness of different CCUS techniques and their impact on the company's overall environmental performance.

Quality Control:

- Develop and implement quality control procedures for incoming raw materials and finished products.
- Perform routine checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Research and Development:

- Assist in conducting research and experiments to develop new materials and construction methods.
- Work with the R&D team to identify innovative solutions to enhance product performance and reduce environmental impact.

Data Management and Reporting:

- Document all test results, procedures, and observations accurately and maintain organized records.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on material performance, CCUS integration, and other relevant findings.

Equipment Maintenance:

- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate and reliable results.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

- Adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices in the laboratory environment.
- Stay updated with industry regulations related to material science and CCUS practices.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and sustainability experts, to share findings and contribute to project success.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven experience as a lab technician in a material science or construction-related industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CCUS technologies and sustainable construction practices is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment used in material analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using relevant software tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Commitment to safety protocols and compliance with laboratory regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with diverse teams.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
