Part Time BAKER / ASSISTANT BAKER

HOURS OF WORK: Multiple shifts available between 7AM and 4PM

COMPENSATION PER HOUR: $17.20/hr + participation in tip pool

START DATE: as soon as possible

WHAT WE DO C'est Tout Bakery & Bistro is a high volume bakery and bistro located in Smiths Falls that boasts long standing regular customers, catering clients, and daily drop in customers from all walks of life. Our customers love the daily lunch specials, the grab-and-go fare for picnics in the park, Friday Take Out meals, and specialty items like deserts, cakes, and pastries.

THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an experienced baking professional who isn’t fazed by a fastpaced, high volume environment. We want to lean on your superior organization skills and creative talent to set up your production space and flow that lets you get right to it, creating the desserts and breads our raving fans line up for each day. It goes without saying that your attention to quality, safety, and time management are the business skills that compliment your baking talents. If you enjoy the challenge of a high volume kitchen and producing seasonally oriented sweets, desserts and pastries, then we want to meet you. If you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning or being self-sufficient and following a production plan, this is not the role for you.

THE ROLE
- Produce, bake and decorate cakes, tarts, pies and desserts using our trusted recipes following a daily production plan and abiding by our standards;
- Assist team members, as needed, in the preparation of cakes, cookies & squares;
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment;
- Ensure a consistently adequate supply of our dessert items;
- Fulfill customer orders, including preparing them for pickup

KEY EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES
- You possess demonstrated experience as baker in a commercial kitchen - please provide references
- You possess demonstrable baking and decorating skills
- You have experience safely operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Baking and pastry training or diploma an asset but not required

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must be available 7 days per week between the hours of 5AM and 8PM
- Must possess Safe Food Handling certification (or are willing to get it at your expense)
