Hydrovac Helper

At OE Utility Services (Ontario Excavac), we work hard to provide our customers with the best value across all our services and we have the track record that shows we never compromise on safety. OE is continuing to grow and we have a need to add to our team.

We have a requirement for Hydrovac Helpers who will be responsible for the safe and successful completion of hydro excavation work assigned, as well as various support work connected to excavation. This includes, but not limited to debris removal, trenching, digging, and excavation around underground utilities and various other infrastructure using our diversified fleet of trucks.

Starting rate: $36.51. In addition, 10% vacation/holiday pay, $10+/hr pension contributions and participation in the union benefit plan which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, etc. Uniforms and PPE provided.

**Requirements**:

- G license is required, with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Proven skills in the construction industry, working around utilities, site preparation and restoration preferred.
- Previous experience working on hydrovacs, coring, stone slinger, an asset.
- Capable of performing labour-intensive jobs in all weather, and varied job site conditions.
- Solid English language skills required.
- Safety oriented, proactive and positive approach in the workplace.
- Self-motivated, collaborative and able to work harmoniously within a team environment.

**Working Conditions**
- Open availability Monday to Friday, with periodic weekends. Short notice work and overtime as required.
- Safety equipment will be required such as, but not limited to: hard hat, safety boots, safety glasses, face mask/respirators, fall protection.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 60 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces
- Work environment: outdoors, public areas, construction sites or similar. Exposure to all seasonal weather, work areas that are dirty, dusty, wet and noisy.
- LiUNA local 183 member in good standing, or will be required to become a member.
